A stunning presentation option, face-mounting fine art prints to optically clear 1/4" acrylic. Face mounting to acrylic is a labor intensive process that requires a lot of skill and patience but the result can be stunning. This process requires a gloss print be adhered with a clear, archival adhesive. We offer a professional quality gloss paper which can be upgraded to a metallic gloss to make certain colors and values seem to glow. It is also possible to face mount a clear acetate material to acrylic using (transparency in place of paper white.) We do not print directly onto acrylic but there are options to create this type of effect, using clear acetate prints or an image transfer. We offer face mounts in two styles: Flush Mount (full bleed) where the image meets the edge of the acrylic, and Spot Mount (floating mount) where the image is trimmed and then mounted inside a larger piece of acrylic. Both styles of face mounts create distinct and crisp looks to compliment a wide variety of artwork. Edges are sealed with a clear, acrylic resin to prevent delamination. Another option utilizes the clarity and stability of high quality glass as a face mounting substrate. A 1/4" thick sheet of tempered glass can be used in place of acrylic. Glass offers a more substantial weight and scratch resistance. A variety of edge finishings are available from our distributor.
